Classes
Advent Traditions
When: Sunday Mornings from 9-9:45
November 22- December 20
Where: Conference Room next to Café
Some of us grew up with a tradition called Advent. We remember the Advent wreaths, the lighting of candles, and the build-up to Christmas. But we may have never understood the tradition. Or we have no idea what Advent is about because it wasn’t part of our background. And many of us are looking for a way to keep Christmas from sneaking up on us!
We will be thinking about the Advent tradition and studying the Scripture passages that Christ-followers have used through the centuries to direct this part of what is called the Christian calendar.
The purpose of these classes will be to experience the Sundays before Christmas with insight and intentions. We want to understand how Advent helps us prepare to celebrate Christ’s first coming to earth as well as prepare us for His second coming. We encourage all adults, college age and above, to join us during these five Sundays.
