Key Values
Christ Centered
We believe every believer should pursue full devotion to Christ which requires complete dependence on the leading and enabling of the Holy Spirit.
This means that growing spiritually requires training and doing those things that cause us to be more like Jesus. This includes submitting to Christ’s desires for us as we rely on the Holy Spirit to make this happen.
Philippians 2:1-11, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Romans 8:9-11, John 14:15, John 14:25
Evangelism Focused
We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore, ought to matter to the church resulting in a priority given to reaching them with the gospel.
The church accomplishes this primarily through relational evangelism by training believers in the process of building relationships with the intent of sharing the gospel and helping develop fully-devoted followers of Jesus.
The church, therefore, needs to nourish believers while becoming culturally relevant without compromising doctrinal purity as we strive continually for excellence which honors God and inspires people.
Luke 15, Matthew 18:14, 1Corinthians 9:19-23, Malachi 1:6-14, Proverbs 27:17, Philemon 6
Bible Based
We believe the Bible is the Word of God given to us by God as the primary catalyst for transformation of individual lives and of the church.
This includes the concept of teaching for life change and character growth. God’s word is more than ideas that we only acknowledge. It must translate into how we live our daily lives.
2Timothy 3:16-17, James 1:23-25
Prayer Enabled
We believe prayer enables us to know God and His purposes so that we can be responsive to His plans.
It is vital to pray frequently as individuals and as a church to seek God and His power so that we can be more responsive to His purposes and plans.
Ephesians 6:18, 1Timothy 5:17, Matthew 21:13, Matthew 6:6, John 16:24, Luke 6:12, Mark 1:35-39
Character Growth Expected
We believe that Christ-followers are expected to undergo continuous growth toward a more Christ-like character.
Over time, a believer not only knows more about God’s truth but is living more and more of that truth. For example, a person does not only learn more about love, joy, peace, etc. but becomes a more loving, joyful, peaceful person.
Ephesians 4:25-32, Hebrews 12:1, Philemon 1:6, Galatians 5:22-26, Galatians 6:1-2
Grace Extended
We believe our attitudes, rules, and traditions should be directed by Christ’s example and God’s Word.
We desire to create a non-legalistic environment that encourages accountability which lovingly helps restore one another even after mistakes, failures, and sins occur resulting in love-driven ministry. We define legalism as imposing standards apart from the Bible and the Holy Spirit.
1Corinthians 13, John 13:34-35, Ephesians 4:29, Galatians 6:1
Stewardship Extended
We believe that Christ-followers are expected to serve the church by utilizing their spiritual gifts, time and money.
Christ has equipped believers with spiritual gifts, time and money for the purpose of building up His church so that we are affective in reaching lost people.
1Corinthian 12-14, Romans 12, Ephesians 4, Psalms 133:1, Romans 12:8, Acts 6:2-5
Community Upheld
We believe that a Christ-like community should be experienced and that this happens most effectively in small groups where we help and serve each other.
In a Christ-like community, people are known, accepted and encouraged, and will become open, vulnerable and accountable. This happens best within small groups as genuine, meaningful, life-changing relationships are sustained. Our definition for small groups is 3-8 people approximately who gather regularly to encourage and stimulate one another toward Christ-likeness.
